Swami Chetanananda
The Power of Spirit through the Practice of Yoga
Steeped in ancient yogic practices American-born Swami Chetanananda is an authentic and powerful spiritual master with a special message for today’s troubled world. His message is profoundly simple. Life is nothing but the manifestation of the Divine and Divinity lies within each human being.
He says “Use your life to cultivate spiritual understanding. Reject nothing in your life and find freedom, creativity and well-being in this lifetime.”
He is widely recognised as an authority on Trika Yoga meditation and the philosophy and tantric practices of Kashmir Shaivism. He has also been initiated into ancient Tibetan Buddhist rituals.
As abbot and spiritual director of the Nityananda Institute and Rudrananda Ashram in Portland, Oregon, Swami Chetanananda also oversees centres in Boston, Santa Monica, New York City, Oslo, and Kathmandu.
The basic meditation technique taught at the Nityananda Institute releases tensions and enables creative energy to flow. It allows us to be ourselves. It is as natural as removing rocks so that water can rise up and express its true nature.
An explorer of the religious practices of many cultures Swami Chetanananda supervises a translation programme for both Sanskrit and Tibetan texts. He is the author of several books on spiritual practice, including The Breath of God, There Is No Other, Will I Be the Hero of My Own Life? and Open Heart, Open Mind. All are available from Rudra Press.
As an inspiration, a resource and mentor to thousands of people from all walks of life Swami Chetanananda is dedicated to awakening The Power of Spirit.
